Urban Bikes
What even is an urban bike?
An urban bike can be many different types of bike; often used for town riding but can also cross over into the Hybrid section! Confused, yes us too. It takes a whole lot of effort even when you’re in the cycling trade to keep up with the constantly evolving world of bikes. We think we’ve got a pretty good handle on things when it comes to bikes, we’ve been here for 40+ years, we should know a thing or two!
We suggest you look at the Hybrid section if what you think you need isn’t in this section.
Generally the Urban Road bike will have straight bars and be on a rigid fork. Or it might have front suspension forks that the user can ‘lock out’ to make them rigid. One doesn’t want to lose momentum and travel up and down with suspension when riding on the road. However if the bike is for multi-use then suspension on the front is useful and this is where lockable suspension forks comes in handy on a bike, the best of both worlds. If you don’t need suspension then don’t have it and keep the weight down!
If you come in and see us you’ll see all of the 400+ bikes we have – we like to consider ourselves as a bit of a treasure trove full of great bikes!
