Children’s Bikes
Having worked in Heathfield for over 40 years, it is safe to say we have sold quite a lot of children’s bikes! Our customers then tend to stay with us into adulthood and then we have seen the same people come back to upgrade bikes, have them serviced or repaired as well as even buying a bike for their children.
This is a great part of our business as customer service is so important to us. And boy do we know our stuff! If something needs changing, repairing, updating or adding onto a bike, then we know how to do it! And kids bikes are no different. As your child grows and changes, additions or updates may need to occur to accommodate them – and we can help with this.
We are based in Heathfield, East Sussex and we see many customers from all around the area. People know about us from quite a distance and are prepared to travel, for the piece of mind they will be getting a safe bike for their child.
The “Pavement bike”
These bikes are generally for the ages of about 2 to 6 years olds, starter bikes and smaller bikes that usually have stabilisers on, for the much younger riders, (advice: I wouldn’t spend money on a balance bike, just buy a small wheeled conventional bike and remove the pedals and stabilisers and you have a balance bike and when they’re ready pop them back on and you have a conventional bike to use, lasts longer)!
The “Action bike”
Bikes for the older child from around 6 to 11 years old, for the more adventurous riders, maybe going off-road and needing a mountain bike! Larger wheels make them more efficient for the longer rides, usually on compact frames which allows one to get the smaller or younger child on bigger bikes. Some of these bikes are just scaled-down versions of equivalent adults bike.
